AICTE JK Scholarship is also called the Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS). The AICTE JK Scholarship is a privileged scholarship program for students residing in Jammu and Kashmir. The AICTE JK Scholarship was started in the year 2011, this scholarship program improves employability opportunities for young candidates of the state by offering financial support to pursue their studies at an undergraduate level outside J&K. The AICTE JK Scholarship is mentioned under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchtar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Yogana.This scholarship program is outfitted within the state by AICTE.

The AICTE JK scholarship also provides financial aid to students who are sheltered in Ladakh under this scheme.

Key Eligibility for AICTE JK Scholarship

Candidates to be eligible for the AICTE JK Scholarship are required to fall into certain criteria which majorly depend on their domicile, academic qualification, and family income. The eligibility criteria for the AICTE JK Scholarship are mentioned below:
 

  • Candidates must be a residents of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
  • Candidates must have qualified class 12th examination from JKBOSE or CBSE, a distinct school located in UTs of J&K and Ladhak. 
  • Candidates must hold a diploma in Engineering from the polytechnic institutes renowned by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), J&K, and Ladhak under the Lateral Entry Scheme.
  • The candidate's annual family income should not be more than Rs 8,00,000 per annum.
  • Fulfill minimum age and other eligibility criteria as mentioned by the institution/ university.
     

Steps to Application Guide for AICTE JK Scholarship

Step 1: Student Registration

  • Candidates need to visit the AICTE JK Scholarship through its official website
  • Candidates are required to complete the registration for PMSS
  • For registration, candidates need to fill in the registration details.
  • Submit the registration form.
  • The registration process will be completed, as students will receive an SMS/email on their registered mobile number/email for verification.
  • Then click on the verification link to complete the registration.

Step 2: Application Submission by the Candidate

  • Once registration is completed, the candidates are required to log in through the AICTE JK Scholarship web portal.
  • Candidates are required to prepare scanned copies of all required documents in jpg/png format with a file size of not more than 2 MB.
  • Once a candidate has logged in, candidates are required to go through the brochure thoroughly, tick the declaration, and click on the ‘Proceed Further’ option.
  • Candidates need to fill in all the necessary details in the form such as personal information, address, family income, educational qualifications, etc.
  • Candidates need to upload all the necessary documents as mentioned in the application form.
  • Provide the details of preferences and disservice center details.
  • At last, candidates can submit the application form by clicking on “Submit Application”.


Step 3: Document Verification by the AICTE JK Scholarship

  • After the submission of the application online, the candidates are required to take the printout of the application form and visit the facilitation center along with all the required documents in original document verification.
  • Candidates need to submit photocopies of all documents to the facilitation center at the duration of verification.
  • Once the document verification is completed, the students are required to collect a copy of their document verification report.


Documents Required for AICTE JK Scholarship

Candidates are required to submit important documents to support their application. Along with the submission of documents, the candidates are required to verify the documents at the enlisted facilitation centers. The documents required for the AICTE JK Scholarship are mentioned below:

  • Scanned signature of the candidate (preferred size-140 X 60 pixels)
  • Passport-sized photograph (preferred size-200 X 230 pixels) of the following:
    Candidate 
  • Father/Guardian passport-sized photograph (in case of a single mother, candidates need to upload the mother’s photo in the father’s/guardian’s place) 
  • Mother/guardian passport-sized photograph

3. Self-certify scan copy of (in jpg/png not more than 2MB)

  • SSC mark sheet
  • Polytechnic diploma certificate.
  • Domicile certificate issued by  UTs of J&K and Ladakh Aadhaar card.
  • Family income certificate issued by Tehsildar or equivalent caste certificate issued by the competent authority of the state government.
  • As per the central government norm, a 40% certificate of disability will be provided.
