TET stands for the Teacher Eligibility Test, while CTET stands for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. The CTET is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India and is a national-level exam, whereas TET is conducted by individual states in India.

CTET and TET are both certification exams for individuals who wish to pursue a career in teaching. The main purpose of both exams is to evaluate a candidate's proficiency in teaching at the primary and upper primary levels.

The CTET and TET exams consist of two papers - Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is for teachers who wish to teach at the primary level (classes 1 to 5) while Paper II is for those who wish to teach at the upper primary level (classes 6 to 8).

Both exams test a candidate's knowledge of various subjects such as child development and pedagogy, mathematics, environmental studies, language, and social studies.

To qualify for either exam, a candidate must score a minimum of 60% marks. The validity of the certification is for seven years, after which the candidate needs to take the exam again to renew their certification.

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is carried out by CBSE at the national level and the TET Exam is conducted at the state level. Each state has its own TET Exams like MAHA TET, OTET, HP TET, TS TET, UP TET etc.
